The Owners

Jennifer Paris has owned Angels’ Rest Retreat since January, 2004. Coming from California via Boston and Brussels, Jennifer has been a teacher, business manager, and long-time student of meditation and spiritual teachings. Searching for a business that would “support the teachers of consciousness,” Angels’ Rest was perfect! The Retreat Center is dedicated to promoting conscious growth. It is our belief that the fastest way to better the world is to support people that are bettering themselves with learning, praying, meditating, focusing, or being with those they love. Any gathering that deepens relationships, clarifies thinking, defines goals, or facilitates healing is in line with our aims. Also just plain enjoyment and laughter are part of our mission! Our friendly staff consists of individuals who take pleasure in making your experience at Angels' Rest the highest quality possible. We are pleased to provide clean accommodations, attractive amenities, and high-quality meals. Angels' Rest History

Angels' Rest History Angels’ Rest was started by Leslie Brooks in March, 2000. Leslie (doing much of the work herself) modified the existing house to accommodate retreat dining and equipped the center to host groups. She planned, designed and built the Conference Center 1998-1999 and subsequently added what is now “The Guest Barn.” She decided to dedicate more of her time to art and spiritual counseling so sold Angels’ Rest in 2004. Leslie’s art and sculpture can be viewed in the Conference Center. Jennifer’s work has been largely to rearrange, redecorate, and continue to beautify Angels’ Rest. Her business background has been useful for the growth and development of the business aspects of running a center. Two dedicated helpers, Bill Love and Liz Sheehan, were instrumental in helping Jen to operate the center as she increased the client base. Today, Angels’ Rest has a steady clientele of wonderful groups and a loyal staff that maintains the grounds and buildings and helps cook our wonderful meals. We have added hiking trails to beautiful spots on the property and enjoy working with the land to reveal its healing and holding qualities. In addition to the Thai Spirit House, Mayan/Peruvian ceremonial fireplace, meditation bench, and fire circle, we have been lovingly gifted with a Peace Pole dedicated to the process of inner peace that ripples through our lives to the greater worlds of which we are a part.
